Synthesis of 2-Methacryloyl-5-hydroxy-3,3,5-trimethylisoxazolidine and Copolymers Thereof

Abstract

Previously unknown 2-methacryloyl-5-hydroxy-3,3,5-trimethylisoxazolidine was prepared by the reaction of 5-hydroxy-3,3,5-trimethylisoxazolidine with methacryloyl chloride. Homopolymers of this compound and its copolymers with N-vinylformamide and N-vinylpyrrolidone were obtained by radical polymerization.
