Abstract
The novel phase-transfer catalysts S-8 (dimethyloctyl(3-sulfopropyl) ammonium betaine) and DB-2 (di-active site quaternary ammonium salts) were synthesized and employed as the phase-transfer catalysts for synthesizing thioethers from various alkyl bromides of high conversion.
