Abstract
We study the possibilities of using mutual amplification (at one frequency) of two traveling transverse waveguide-system modes, coupled by a Bragg structure, in electron microwave amplifiers. Based on the universal asymptotic equations, we show that the broadening of the bandwidth of resonant electron–wave interaction in such a device can lead to a significant increase in the efficiency and make the amplifier less sensitive to the electron velocity spread.
