Abstract
This paper will look into the recurrent topos that is the Jewish question in the writings of Marguerite Duras. The expression of 'errance courbe', used in one of her interviews, describes the wandering existence of the Jewish people – commonly referred to through the Greek term of 'Diaspora'. My aim here is to demonstrate how the dialectic stasis/movement on which the Jewish existence seems to be built, according to Duras, is reflected in two of her texts – namely Aurélia Steiner and the less known Abahn Sabana David. The figure of the Jew may then be seen as an essential vector in understanding Duras' existential, but also political and historical position.
