Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Abstract

The mechanical properties and structure of the metal of circulation pipelines from steel 10GN2MFA in the initial condition and after 100,000 h of operation at power generating units Nos. 1 and 2 of the South-Ukrainian nuclear power plant (NPP) and unit No. 1 of the Zaporozhe NPP (VVÉR-1000) are investigated. Standard specimens and microspecimens are tested for determining the correlation between properties. The obtained data are analyzed and recommendations are given on the use of microspecimens for checking the mechanical properties and structure of the metal of permanent equipment and piping of generating units of nuclear power plants.
