Typical Defects of Axle Preforms Determined by Ultrasonic Check of Wheelset Axles

Abstract

Typical defects of axle preforms produced by different steel and iron works are described and classified according to metallographic features. It is shown that these defects can be detected by methods of ultrasonic check.
