An Indirect Method for Static Measurements of the Mass of Petroleum and Petroleum Products in Vertical Cylindrical Steel Tanks

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Abstract

Equations and estimates are obtained for the errors in measuring the mass of petroleum and petroleum products by an indirect method. Versions of measurements of the level of a product using a tape measure and a level gauge are considered. Examples of calculations of the errors in measuring the mass of a product and the mass of a dose are given, which enable both methods to be compared.
