Abstract
We have established the laws of formation of boride coatings in the course of saturation of titanium from different boron-containing media in the atmosphere of dynamic vacuum at a temperature of 900–1100°C. We have shown that the phase composition depends on the saturation temperature and the activity of the medium and have found a correlation between the content of the TiB2 phase, surface microhardness, and the depth of the diffusion zone.
