Investigation of Model Emulsion Films Stabilized by Solid Particles: Thickness of Films, Their Stability, and Interfacial Tension

Abstract

The results of studying the thickness and stability in the gravitational field are presented for model emulsion films stabilized by solid particles of aluminum stearate and modified silica. The dependences of the capillary pressure on the thickness upon the creation of reduced pressure in a film (capillary pressure isotherms) are also given. The decrease in the water–oil interfacial tension because of solid particles is experimentally investigated.
