Microsilica Tested as a Component for the Binder of a Medium-Cement Refractory Castable

  • Published:
Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Aims and scope

Abstract

The interaction between components of the binder of a medium-cement refractory castable at drying and sintering temperatures up to 1250°C is studied. Microsilica taken in the proportion 1 : 10 to 7 : 10 to Gorkal-40-grade cement was shown to play a role in the formation of new phases of the binder.
