Abstract
Zn5In2S8 single crystals were grown, and their orientation was identified. The 300-K cathodoluminescence (CL) spectrum of Zn5In2S8 was found to be dominated by a strong orange-red band around 1.97 eV with a full width at half maximum of 0.35 eV. The effect of excitation parameters on the positions and intensities of the observed CL features was examined.
