Abstract
We propose an approach of boundary integral equations to the investigation of interaction of plane cracks under static loading in a half space with rigidly restrained surface. By the method of potential, we reduce the problem to the solution of a system of two-dimensional boundary integral equations of Newton-potential type for the unknown functions of displacements of the crack surfaces. For a circular crack perpendicular to the surface of the half space, we obtain the values of the stress intensity factors.
