Effect of Higher Fatty Acids and Their Mixtures on Interfacial and Physicomechanical Properties of Vulcanized Rubbers

Abstract

The interfacial characteristics of stearic and oleic acids and their mixtures were studied. The surface free energies of isoprene and butadiene-styrene rubbers and vulcanizates thereof, obtained using fatty acids and their synergistic mixture as vulcanization activators, were evaluated from the contact angles.
