A Novel Method of Detecting Boundary-Layer Separation at Near-Sonic Velocities

Abstract

A novel method of detecting the boundary-layer separation point based on measuring the static-pressure pulsations is proposed. With reference to the example of a tapped yawed wing, criteria for the occurrence and development of separation at near-sonic velocities are found using this method.
