Abstract
The possibility of modifying paint coatings by introduction of surfactants containing various hydrophilic centers and hydrophobic radicals was studied. Cationic surfactants based on dimethylaminoethanol were tested both alone and as components of paint coatings for protection of Cт3 steel in aqueous including acidic solutions. The protective effect of the surfactants was found to largely depend on the length of their hydrophobic radical.
