Effect of Preliminary Hardening on the Properties of Steel 15Kh16K5N2MVFAB

  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Abstract

Modes of heat treatment of steel 15Kh16K5N2MVFAB used in commercial production of parts are considered. It is suggested to complement the process of heat treatment used by preliminary hardening and tempering. A comparative analysis of the mechanical properties, structure, and machinability of parts after the conventional and the suggested heat treatment variants is presented.
