Abstract
The historical aspect of the origin and development of the metrology of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields is considered, beginning with Hertz's experiments. The first electric field strength standards in the 30–300 MHz frequency band are described. The results obtained are analyzed and estimated from the modern point of view.
