Abstract

The large difference in the temperature dependences of EMF of cells C|Cu|CuBr|C and C|Ag|AgI|C, obtained when heating and cooling, is probably due to the retention in the samples of a “high-temperature” phase with a disordered cationic sublattice. Some features of the dependences are associated with silver iodide and copper bromide changing their modifications; others, presumably with the cationic-sublattice disordering and with the compounds" conversion into a high-conductivity phase.
