Stationary Convective Diffusion and Nonlinear Effects in an Electrochemical Transducer

Abstract

Dependences of limiting and difference currents of an electrochemical transducer with gauze electrodes on the velocity of stationary electrolyte flow are studied using a method of three-dimensional finite volumes. The main reason for nonlinearity of the difference current is the transfer of electrolyte ions from one anode–cathode pair to another. In a transducer with electrodes of parallel wires arranged in a checkerboard pattern the difference current nonlinearity may be reduced by forty and more times.
