Abstract
Measuring eigenfrequencies and identifying eigenmodes provide the observational basis for a significant improvement in our understanding of stellar evolution and structure.Development throughout the last few years show that we may be at the dawn of a `Golden Age'for Asteroseismology. For this to become a reality we only need two things:Better data and better models. In this paper I describe some aspectsof how one detects stellar oscillations.
