Abstract
As a new borane source for hydroboration, borane-1-trimethylsilylpiperidine (1) was synthesized from the reaction of diborane with 1-trimethylsilylpiperidine. The molecular structure of 1 was unambiguously determined by a combination of 1H, 13C, and 11B NMR spectra and X-ray single crystal analysis. X-ray crystallographic data for 1: Orthorhombic Pnma (#62), a = 6.4476(6) Å, b = 10.503(1) Å, c = 6.058(2) Å, V = 1087.4(2) Å3, Z = 4.
