Abstract

TThe first plant in Russia for low—temperature isomerization of pentane—hexane naphtha cuts with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year was started up in May, 2002. Due to the close collaboration of Rosneft' Oil Company — Komsomol'sk Oil Refinery, Kedr—89 Co., Komsomol'sk Oil Refinery Construction and Maintenance OJSC, and Orgneftekhim Ltd. and efficient organization of operations, the plant was constructed and started up in 15 months, including development of the detail design, manufacture and acquisition of equipment, construction—maintenance, and starting operation. The detail design was drawn up by Ukrneftekhimproekt OJSC ( ;Kiev) by license from the French firm AXENS. Complete delivery of the equipment, including the design and manufacture of nonstandard equipment, was the responsibility of Kedr—89 Co. Construction and maintenance work was completed in a very short time by Komsomol'sk Oil Refinery Construction and Maintenance OJSC, and the equipment was set up in an almost “turnkey” manner.
