Nuclear Resonant Scattering into the New Millennium

Abstract

The technique of nuclear resonant scattering has spread out in various fields during the previous years. Those fields, which have rapidly developed and attracted the highest interest are those where the outstanding properties of both synchrotron radiation and the Mössbauer effect have merged. These fields comprise applications to samples under extreme conditions either in hyperfine spectroscopy or vibrational spectroscopy. The various techniques are discussed and examples are presented in this overview.
