Abstract

Novel soft magnetic amorphous and nanocrystalline Fe81−x Ni x Zr7B12 (x=10–40) alloys with low magnetic anisotropy were prepared by melt quenching technique and subsequent annealing. Magnetic properties, studied by the rf-Mössbauer technique, strongly depend on Ni-content. The best soft magnetic properties were found in the nanocrystalline Fe41Ni40Zr7B12 alloy annealed at 582°C.
