Abstract
An analysis is made of practical solutions adopted when designing Tokar mechanical dynamometers of the third order of accuracy. This serves as a basis for proposing new design treatments that substantially enhance dynamometer sensitivity and stability under compression, while reducing the influence that the eccentric application of force has on the accuracy of measurement. A new procedure is described for the kinematic calculations involved in designing dynamometers.
