Abstract
A plant growth inhibitor was isolated from blue light-illuminated cressseedlings and identified as 4-hydroxy-2,3-dimethyl-2-nonen-4-olide from1H and 13C NMR and ESI-MS spectra. It inhibited thehypocotyl growth of cress seedlings at concentrations higher than 100μM.
