Strength Design for the Elements of Mining Machines under Elastoplastic Impact

Abstract

An engineering procedure based on the Hertz contact theory is proposed for determining the shock wave energy, as well as elastic and plastic strains in the colliding solid bodies. The theoretical calculations of impact load and local deformation are compared with the experimental data.
