Abstract
We consider a method of radio-acoustic sounding of the atmosphere using millimeter-wave radars based on powerful masers (gyrotrons) operated in the regime of intrapulse chirp modulation. The proposed method makes it possible to measure the atmospheric temperature profile without any modification of the meteoradar transceiving system and to improve significantly the capabilities of remote monitoring of the atmosphere.
