Abstract
We study the complicated behavior of the dispersion curves of eigenmodes of a parallel-plate chirowaveguide with identical (electric) or mixed (nonidentical) conducting walls, which results from multiple crossovers of the curves corresponding to two sets of modes and undergoing a bifurcation at the cutoff frequency. We find the total number of crossover points in each modal pair, including both propagating and evanescent waves. The asymptotic behavior of the dispersion curves in the high-frequency domain is determined.
