Abstract
Thermal decomposition of secondary stock from the flax-processing industry and the possibility of optimizing production of carbon fibre materials with sodium phosphates were investigated. It was found that the use of phosphorus-containing additives for modification of the initial fibre stock allows decreasing the temperature at which intensive degradation begins, increasing the yield of carbonized residue, and giving the material developed strength and good sorption properties during subsequent activation.
