Abstract
Apparent and intrinsic kinetic parameters of substrate decomposition were estimated from the profiles of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and volatile fatty acids (VFA) concentrations along the length of the horizontal-flow anaerobic immobilized sludge (HAIS) reactor. The first order substrate utilization kinetic model describes well the experimental data.
