Abstract
The subject of this study was inducing somatic embryogenesis in the callus of Lycium barbarum L., The uptake rate of several metal ions in somatic embryogenesis was investigated by multitracer techniques. It was found that some metal ions changed the somatic embryogenesis dynamically. The uptake rates of metal ions were different from each other and exert mutual effect, mutual influence and mutual restriction. It was shown that metal ions were selectively absorbed on embryonic cell in the differentiation and division stages. Moreover, they give us a more detailed information on the behavior of trace elements in plants. We discussed some possibly mechanism of regular cell development, involving metal ions.
