Tangential-Slot Film Cooling on a Plate in Supersonic Flow. Comparison of Calculation and Experiment

Abstract

The boundary layer flow on a plate in the presence of tangential-slot supersonic gas injection into the supersonic flow is studied numerically. The dependence of the film-cooling effectiveness on the slot film parameters, i.e. gas temperature, mass flow, slot height, and the gas-film and free-stream Mach numbers, is determined. The calculation results are compared with experimental data.
