The Effect of Conformational Changes on the Catalytic Transformations of n-Alkanes

Abstract

Temperature induced conformational changes of various alkanes were studied. n-Hexane was studied in order to demonstrate its ability to be involved in C5 and C6 ring closure reactions, while long chain alkanes, such as C8, C16 and C24, were investigated with the aim to calculate their temperature dependent molecular diameter controlling their penetration ability into zeolite channels.
