Abstract
A technique is proposed for fabricating diamond–SiC–Si composites via chemical reactions between silicon and carbon directly in the green compact at pressures no higher than 105Pa. An important advantage of the process is the ability to fabricate complex-shaped bodies from diamond-containing composites exhibiting unique mechanical properties.
