Effect of Ni Doping on the Luminescence and Scintillation Characteristics of CaI2Crystals

Abstract

The roentgenoluminescence of CaI2and CaI2:Ni2+crystals was studied in the temperature range from 90 to 350 K. The results, together with photoluminescence and optical absorption data, demonstrate that the Ni dopant produces no activator centers emitting in the visible range and gives rise to strong luminescence quenching.
