Abstract
The behaviour of the oxidative dehydrogenation and isomerization reactions of 1-butene, cis-2-butene and trans-2-butene in the presence of oxygen over bismuth molybdates is studied. The significant observed differences are interpretable in the light of the site isolation concept, taking into account the pronounced different reduction power of the tested olefins. Important aspects of the mechanisms of the involved reactions are discussed.
