Abstract
The results of 40-years of computational-experimental investigations of the deformation of graphite blocks and the deformation of graphite columns and the entire masonry as a whole in commercial uranium–graphite reactors operating at the Industrial Association Mayak are reviewed. The investigations were used as a basis for predicting the working-capacity of masonry and to substantiate and guarantee the safety of masonry during reactor operation.
