Abstract
The profile distributions of a focused Gaussian beam of 63-μm laser radiation for E- and H-polarizations were recorded by a thin-wire bolometer 3 μm in diameter. The profiles were used to determine the beam diameters, which were D E = (8.16 ± 0.12) μm and D H = (8.00 ± 0.12) μm upon elimination of the dominant systematic errors.
