Opto-Electronic Testing of Jersey Fabrics in the Process of Manufacture

  • Published:
Russian Journal of Nondestructive Testing Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

The paper is devoted to developing a technique and instrument for optical detection of flaws in jersey fabrics. The testing is performed in the following manner: the tested area is illuminated with light, and a light detecting apparatus with rectangular aperture is placed close to the moving fabric. The measuring procedure and original method of “training” the apparatus are based on the analysis of signal spectra due to standard and flawed fabrics. The apparatus is presently used on production lines.
