Abstract
We discuss the problem of decreasing polarization losses in a two-beam scheme of charged-particle acceleration. The scheme is based on the Čerenkov effect in a bicylindric waveguide in the case where two channels for the accelerating and accelerated beams are cut along both axes of the structure in the medium filling the waveguide. We propose an extrapolation formula for determining the resonance sizes of the structure cross section as functions of the channel radii for which the single-mode regime with a high-intensity accelerating field is realized.
