Abstract
Simultaneous steam and CO2 reforming of methane to syngas (H2and CO) over NiO/MgO/a-Al2O3 catalyst have been investigated at different MgO wt.%. The catalyst has been characterized by temperature-programmed reduction and XRD techniques. Addition of MgO reduced the carbon deposition and energy consumption. The stability and less coking on MgO-promoted catalysts are attributed to the lewis basicity of MgO.
