Synthesis and redox properties of bis-ferrocenylethynyl derivatives of bis(dimethylphosphinoethane)manganese

Abstract

Paramagnetic MnII and MnIII complexes containing two ferrocenylethynyl ligands were synthesized. Their redox reactions were studied by cyclic voltammetry and chemical methods. The structures of the resulting compounds were determined by IR, 1H NMR, and ESR spectroscopy. The structure of the complex [(FcC≡C)2Mn(dmpe)2]+PF6 was established by X-ray diffraction analysis.
