Abstract
La1−x SrxMnO3 (0≤x≤0.8) perovskite-type oxides were synthesized by the combined EDTA-citrate complexing method and their catalytic activity for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide was investigated. Hydrogen peroxide decomposition was observed as a first-order reaction on these catalysts. With the increase of Sr substitution, the catalytic activity increased accordingly. Through analysis of the kinetic results, the compensation effect was found for these perovskites and Mn4+ ions were ascribed as the active sites of hydrogen peroxide decomposition.
