Formation and Use of Pseudomeasurements of Lateral Deviations of an Object in Problems of Automobile Navigation

  • Published:
Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Abstract

The questions are considered of forming pseudomeasurements of lateral deviations of a moving object relative to the center line of a road. The choice of the direction for reading the lateral deviations is justified and linear analytical dependences are determined for calculating the magnitudes of the lateral deviations. The results are given of theoretical and experimental investigations of the main error components of the lateral deviations. All the results are presented in a form which enables them to be used directly when developing procedures for correcting terrestrial navigation systems using digital maps.
