Lewis Acid Behavior of Cationic Complexes of Palladium(II) and Platinum(II): Some Examples of Catalytic Applications

  • Published:
Topics in Catalysis Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

The behavior of a variety of cationic diphosphine complexes of Pd(II) and Pt(II) as Lewis acid catalysts is reviewed. The reactions considered are the Baeyer–Villiger oxidation of ketones, the acetalization of aldehydes and ketones and the Diels–Alder reaction in both their regular and enantioselective version.
