Temperature Field of the Microstructure of Powder Metallic Materials during Their Sintering in the Self-Sustaining High-Temperature Synthesis Regime

  • Published:
Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Abstract

Thermophotometry and micro-thermocouple measurements are used to determine the temperature on different sections of the microstructure of a metallic powder compact during its consolidation in the combustion zone. The experimental unit and method of investigation are described, and the characteristics of the powder materials are presented. The causes of temperature gradients formed between the structural components during self-sustaining high-temperature synthesis are discussed.
