Effect of Sodium Phosphate on Sintering of Hydroxyapatite Ceramics

  • Published:
Refractories and Industrial Ceramics Aims and scope

Abstract

The effect of Na3PO4 additive introduced into hydroxyapatite ceramics in amounts of 1 and 2% on their sintering shrinkage, formation of microstructure, phase composition, and mechanical properties is considered. The conditions for maximum mechanical properties of densely sintered ceramics are determined.
