Abstract

The complexation constants and the heats of complexation of 15-crown-5 (15C5) and 18-crown-6 (18C6) with sodium and ammonium ions in aqueous solutions at several temperatures were determined using calorimetry methods. Thermodynamic characteristics (ΔH°, ΔG°, ΔS°, and ΔC p°) of the formation of Na(15C5)+, Na(18C6)+, and NH4(18C6)+were calculated.
