Abstract
A perturbation technique is used to study the critical loading of flexible plates subjected to small buckling with mechanical or thermal fields in their middle planes which create prior stresses. The application of a dynamic stability criterion is examined. The original problem is reduced to a recurrence sequence of static bending problems. Some numerical calculations are presented for plates containing a concentrated heat source.
